When a Rainbow is Black - Creator's comments by Moe Mustafa

Moe Mustafa WHEN A RAINBOW IS BLACK.  The performance tells three stories of physical and sexual assault that happen to homosexual people. However, the performance looks at these experiences from family and social point of view. It is an episodic performance that only focuses on the traumatic part of the story and the social perception. Personally, the process of directing WHEN A RAINBOW IS BLACK has been hard and rough, every day I had to come up with solution, decision and most of all visualizing the heavy material that I had written in the script, in which one of the story is my own experience. Working with professional actors, without knowing them beforehand, is challenging, but the key is to build trust between the director and the actors. From Tampere to Tallinn to Japan – TAMK Delegation in Tallinn Music Week 30.3.-2.4.2017

The Finest Sounds project got to full speed in March, when eight students from TAMK Media & Arts and Head of DP in Media & Arts Timo Kivikangas, lecturers Harri Karvinen and Sohvi Sirkesalo travelled to Tallinn to participate to Tallinn Music Week, in order to work together with students from Baltic Film, Media, Arts and Communication School (Tallinn University) and HUMAK in a Hackathon session and meet the Japanese delegation. The programme was intensive. On Thursday evening, the students from three universities gave short presentations about their ideas for combining a music artist or band with Finnish and Estonian companies and brands. Students from Media & Arts had stylish and fresh demos with Finnish band Tuuletar and artist Venior. In the end of the session, three groups were formed by eight students from TAMK, two from HUMAK and three from BFM.
