European Youth Award festival 2015

 Sixteen second-year Interactive Media students participated in the European Youth Award festival in Graz, Austria, 18.-21. November. The students worked in international student teams to evaluate the winning projects and to design posters and handouts for the project exhibition. The winning project of this year was "Aprendices Visuales - Visual Learning for children with autism" from Spain.

Get ready for INTAC - International Art Collaborations Course Intac was born in 2010 as a tandem project between two schools, TAMK University of Applied Sciences and OCAD University in Toronto, Canada. The core idea was that students from the two universities would ideate and realize art projects working together, using skype and other social media to communicate, and at the end they would organize a joint art exhibition. Five years passed by, and Intac is stronger than ever. Six universities are taking part in the project right now(TAMK, OCAD in Canada, Chung-Ang University in Seoul, Osaka University of Arts in Japan, BTK from Berlin and NID from India)and for the first year this year, the international students from the new Fine Arts study path are taking part in the project. EARS – Europe-Asia Roundtable Sessions is a platform supporting creative industry collaboration between Europe and Asia. A place for creative professionals from different cultural settings to meet, connect and share ideas. EARS on Helsinki, took place on August 27-30 in YLE Pasila, catered a blend of keynotes, roundtables and networking sessions with topics ranging from virtual reality to Asia’s festival boom. Photopool at ITK fair in Hämeenlinna

The team of three Deadline was met with photopool-project last Friday in Hämeenlinna. Photopool is an app that was introduced at ITK-fair which is focused in interactive methods of education . Development started after the original concept by Tuomo Joronen, a lecturer at Degree Programme in Media. Group of three, Tuomo, Chrystal, student at Interactive Programme in Media and Mika, student at Computer Sciences welcome you to try the app which you can download at: www.photopool.fi . Currently there is an android version only. Most of the development process occurred during the summer of 2014 and slowly but surely the app was finetuned into a deliverable by the fair.
