Gezelligheid, Tam Tam, and Zuid Holland

It has been 41 days since the May Day spring celebration in Finland, Vappu , which is also the day I began my internship with Tam Tam and the adventures in The Netherlands. The first week was rather exciting as I experienced the nomadic living without proper accommodation arrangement, due to working permit issues. It involved many camping nights and hostel searching, but nonetheless first week at Tam Tam has been wonderful and I was warmly welcomed by many friendly faces and cozy receptions. It is a good reminder for all TAMK Media students with non-EU citizenship to look into visa requirements way before your internship and exchange studies starts in another EU country to save yourself from unexpected troubles. A glimpse behind the scenes of the International Week

Now that this year’s International week is over we can only wait until next year to experience this eventful week again. The iWeek has been a long tradition in TAMK and each year it has only gotten better. We learn from previous years and aim to improve the event so that all students, visitors, participants, and teachers can enjoy it to the fullest. The first International week was organized year 2008, then named Tampere Art Factory, TAF. The idea for this type of international event came from our former Head of Degree programme and International coordinator Mr. Cai Melakoski and Head of Fine Arts, Mr. Juha Suonpää. Get ready for INTAC - International Art Collaborations Course Intac was born in 2010 as a tandem project between two schools, TAMK University of Applied Sciences and OCAD University in Toronto, Canada. The core idea was that students from the two universities would ideate and realize art projects working together, using skype and other social media to communicate, and at the end they would organize a joint art exhibition. Five years passed by, and Intac is stronger than ever. Six universities are taking part in the project right now(TAMK, OCAD in Canada, Chung-Ang University in Seoul, Osaka University of Arts in Japan, BTK from Berlin and NID from India)and for the first year this year, the international students from the new Fine Arts study path are taking part in the project.
